Round 8 Cool Fab-Racing Championship
Final Race report for this season for round 8 of the Cool Fab-Racing Championship at Tattershall 2018.
We arrived at Tattershall not expecting much as Ryan Broke his thumb 2 weeks ago today at this very same track .
Ryan had his arm in cast he was crying every day because he could not ride and wanted to race his last round , we were told of a place in Corsham and the owner Simon can work miracles so we did just that , booked him in an hour every day , a week after his accident went back to bath Hospital where we were told he could choose his next cast and they took an X-Ray to check if it was healing , SHOCKED at how quick it healed they cut his cast off and discharged us that very day .....dean took him to M4 Karting to make sure he could ride without it hurting and BOOM it was all go from then on wards ..... But as usual Ryan never ceases to amaze us , He was flying around like nothing had happened , But to have the happy smiles back with no more tears was priceless and worth every penny spent so at the last minute we got our stuff packed and left for Tattershall .
Qualifying : LC40 Elite Class : 3rd on the Grid
Race 1 : Very wet Race ...BOOM....Winner winner chicken dinner (take away to celebrate ) by over 13 second lead and fastest lap in the wet
Race 2 : 3rd Great battles and clean racing
Race 3 : 4th great racing again
1st overall for the weekend and so very proud and all the sheer determination of racing with a sore and slightly swollen thumb , he was fast smooth and loved every minute , Ryan finished his Season in 4th place by narrowly missing out on the podium by 7 points ..... well done son amazing year never out of the top 10 on any bike .
Qualifying Mini GP50 Class : pole position Ryan was so quick all weekend
Race 1 : Sadly Ryan crashed on lap 5 while leading from the start . it was wet and was pushing to hard as he was so desperate for a 1st place win for the 1st time on his GP50 . Finished 8th place
Race 2 : Ryan led the race for 9 laps but a back marker got in the way and didn't pull over , got in the way even more so all the 5 bikes behind flew past him , didn't have enough laps left and Ryan finished 6TH he was gutted as he knew he could have won
Race 3 : Poor Ryan not his time to get 1st on the GP50 , Ryan was leading ,messed gear up on lap 8 still managed to keep 1st place then on lap 9 bike juddered and messed the gears up again the 5 riders close behind took the gap and Ryan only had 2 laps left and couldn't do anything , finished in 6th but found out after the race he didn't mess his gears up the seal in the water pump broke letting water into the oil and trouble getting gears.
Ryan was in 15th place in the championship 3 rounds ago and managed to finish the season in 10th place as this was his 1st season on the GP50 and only rides it at cool fab rounds and is the slowest bike on the track, But he has always been a smooth racer and doesn't come off a lot and in all his 4 years of racing he has never been out of the top 10 and were so very proud of everything he has achieved and Ryan being part of the BSB Moto Rapido Ducati Racing Team for 2 years was just amazing and were very honoured .
